Golden Girl

Tangled in hair

two braids down my back,

Not a care in the world

about beauty or lack.

The light from the sun

rests in my veins

Under my skin, heart, and lungs

My Golden Girl,

breathe in the love,

the journey of Life

The music that hums.

Sing with the birds,

Dance with the trees,

Smell the sweet roses,

Make friends with the bees.

When things turn

The older you get

Allow me to come back

And solar your heart.

Blue in the eyes

Green in the soul

Because no one but you

can make yourself Whole.
